What?
Welcome! Mission to Morocco is an effort on behalf of Tammy Winand to raise funds to participate in an overseas program for women's empowerment hosted by the respected agency Cross-Cultural Solutions. Tammy chose this program as a result of her own experiences with abusive relationships as well as fighting for fair treatment in the workplace. The program location Tammy has chosen is Rabat, Morocco.


Why Morocco?
Although Islamic law, the shar'ia, declares that women are free to divorce, own property, and pursue an education, the law does not always translate into practice. Women who seek their independence may find themselves without the know-how or resources to improve life for themselves or their children. For this reason, local agencies, in conjunction with CCS, are operating shelters where women can learn skills which will help them find a better future.

Volunteer programs run from 3-12 weeks. Tammy selected the 12 week program for two main reasons:
1) This period will allow more time to make a difference, and
2) It will also provide more education in the languages, cultural and religious traditions of the area.
In today's reality, it is urgent to be able to relate to the Islamic world and to move through life as an educated global citizen.
There are many ways YOU can support this mission, and you do NOT have to spend a penny if you choose not to!
